Chicago: Say Hello to Fall Fashion

By Iman A. Jefferson

Three years after their highly successful boutique Solemates opened in Lincoln Park, husband-and-wife owners Brian and Autumn Merritt decided to take their classic, sophisticated twist on street wear to another level with the opening of their new shop, Sir & Madame.
Located in the ultra-hip Ukrainian Village neighborhood, the 1,125-square-foot space and design center offers 1930s-inspired, high premium T-shirts and cut-and-sew items, such as wovens, knits, and denim.
The shop also features accessories for both men and women, and New York brands such as The Brooklyn Circus (BKc), Cubannie Links, 3Sixteen, and Osborn Design. Other lines the shop carries include Cheap Monday, Thorocraft, Finn, Found Objects, and Rare Eyewear. Besides selling hard-to-find goods, Sir & Madame provides wardrobe styling and brand consulting should you need a bit of assistance. Be sure to check out the end-of-season sale.
